Help Us Raise the Roof!

Darlington FC Fans & Supporter Group Members have over the last 6 months raised an incredible £140,000+ towards improving Blackwell Meadows infrastructure and boosting the playing budget. We have one last hurdle to overcome to get the ground ready to be eligible for promotion to the National League – a roof to cover the new seated stand.

We need £50,000 by December 31st. This will enable the purchase and installation of steelwork & cladding to put a roof over the new seated stand. Completing the fundraising by December 31st will allow enough lead time to order materials and erect the roof to beat the FA’s March 31st deadline for ground grading standards.

Recent events off the pitch haven’t changed the focus of our players. The first question to DFC directors, from Leon Scott, after the departure of our previous manager was to ask if the fans and the board would still have the ground ready for the playoffs. With the new management team in place we’re now ready to kick-on towards the target of reaching the play-offs.

Since 2012 Darlington FC fans have raised over £750,000 in capital to rescue the club, pay down legacy debts, provide a financial platform for 3 promotions in 5 years and fund the return to playing in our home town once again. We should never doubt what we can achieve together, on or off the pitch, let’s raise the roof and do our part to give the players the opportunity they were denied last season.

The good news is we are already off to an excellent start with over £6,000 in the Ground Development Fund which was left over from the last round of fundraising. That means we are over 12% of the way to the overall target already!

How can you help?

In order to give an option to suit every supporter that would like to help us ‘Raise The Roof’ we have three choices with various benefits and amounts. We’ve set individual targets on each however these are flexible and the important number is £50,000 across all 3 options:

Community Shares (from £100) (£30K target). Our popular community share scheme, where you can choose to receive interest on your investment & have the option to have your capital repaid as well (minimum 5 year investment period)

Ground Development Fund (£10K target) is perfect for smaller amounts (£10-£99) and is on a donation basis with no return. This fund also includes offline donations raised via buckets on matchdays and from people donating their 50/50 or Lottery winnings

Sponsor Your Seat (£50) (£10K target). This option is initially for seated ticket holders only. For a set donation you will get your name on your seat & some associated benefits. We hope to open this up to all supporters in November

Further details of these options can be found in the associated pitches at https://fundraising. …

The DFCSG - strengthening the roots of our club

The DFCSG created and manage the B2D fund, which is funding available to help establish the Club back in Darlington. The fund acts as the primary collection pot for monies raised from direct donations and events organised by the DFCSG Fundraising Group.

Of course, there are many ways in which you can help the club directly but, if you’re specifically looking for a quick and easy way to support the establishment of a solid foundation for the Club in its new home, then it only takes a few minutes to set up a one-off or regular donation to the B2D Fund either by your online or high street banking service.

For monthly standing orders or a one off donation please send monies to the following account:

“Darlington FC Supporters Group”
Lloyds Bank
Sort code: 30-84-43
Account No: 30283268

To pay by cheque please make cheque payable to
“Darlington FC Supporters Group” and send to

Darlington FC Supporters Group

Please quote your name in the reference area when using internet banking and, on the back of your cheque, include your name and address.

Remember there are many ways to help the Club… can you think of any more? Please tell us about it either by email or in person at the Fans Table in the bar at all home games.

  • Buying a Season Ticket helps to provide the Manager with additional funding needed to strengthen the team at the start of each new season
  • Attending matches provides the club with a constant stream of money throughout the season, from additional match-day ticket sales and revenues from catering and other sales (e.g. programme sales, match-day raffle tickets, 50:50 match-day draw, Club merchandise).
  • The Come On Darlo Prediction League is a fun way to add a little bit of an edge to your season - use your skill and judgement to predict how we and the other local clubs will do in the coming season, and who will be the big winners and losers nationally, come the end of the season.
  • The Sponsor a Goal scheme is a fan-run initiative which has raised over £8000 for the Club since it began in season 2012-13.
  • For as little as £5/month the DFC Fans Lottery Draw provides you with the chance to win either £50 in each weekly draw, or even more in the monthly Super Draw. The Lottery has raised more than £10,000 for the Club over the past 12 months.
  • The Fundraising Group runs a series of entertainment fundraising events over the year, the proceeds of which go into the B2D fund.
The Darlington FC Supporters Group (DFCSG) was established on April 10th 2015 with the merger of the CIC, Supporters Club and Supporters Trust. Darlington FC Supporters Group holds approximately 62% of the equity of Darlington Football Club and is therefore the major shareholder as well as being the Corporate Director of Darlington Football Club 1883 Ltd.
