Foodbank Collection at the Guiseley match

food-bank-thumb.jpgAt our next home match, which will be against Guiseley on Saturday 3rd November we will be holding our annual collection for the King’s Church Foodbank.

The King’s Church Foodbank is situated on Whessoe Road and is part of a network of foodbanks across the town. The other centres are at St. Mary’s Community Centre in Cockerton, St. Andrew’s Church in Haughton-le-Skerne and St. Columba Church on Clifton Road.

The foodbanks are an emergency food resource for people who are unable to feed themselves or their families due to financial difficulties or crisis.

The King’s Church is always grateful for the donations that they receive, especially non-perishables such as – baked beans, soup, UHT milk, tinned meats/fruit and pasta or rice, which helps the foodbank to make up a well-balanced bag of food.

Quakers fans have always given generously as can be seen in photograph of the proceeds from last year’s collection.

If you’re unable to attend the Guiseley match, or you forget to take your contribution to the collection, don’t worry because there are designated donation boxes around town, including Sainsburys and Co-op stores, or you can take donations directly to collection points listed above. Supplies often run low, so donations of food are always gratefully received.

DFCSG Fundraising Race Night

race-night.png On Saturday the 20th of October DFCSG are planning to host a Race Night to raise funds for OUR FOOTBALL CLUB. The venue is Holy Family Social Club, Prior Street, Cockerton, doors open at 7.30 for a 8.00pm start.

Tickets for the event will be £5 per person and will be strictly over 18’s only, as we will providing our own bar with beer, cider and wine and soft drinks which you can buy during the night.

The premise of a Race Night is very straight forward: there are 8 horse races which have been recorded and will be played during the night. Before a race starts people place bets on a horse (8 horses per race) for £1 per betting ticket. The race is played on the big screen and the those who bet on the winning horse will win cash depending on the relevant odds.

To raise funds before the night we are offering the chance for people to become ‘OWNERS’ of horses for the 7 races. As an ‘OWNER’ you get naming rights for a horse (it can be anything you want) and the winning ‘OWNER’ of a race gets a bottle of Prosecco! It costs £10 per horse and you can buy as many as you want.

Each of the races needs to have an overall sponsor, so anyone interested in being the race sponsor with their name or company and logo please contact below, the cost of this including an advert in the race programme is £50.

Let us know ASAP if you would like to become an ‘OWNER’ as all names will be printed in the Race Night Programme.

The final race of the night will be an AUCTION where we will be selling off each horse to the highest bidder (who gets to name the horse). When all 8 horses have been sold people will bet and the race will be run. The winning ‘OWNER’ gets 50% of the takings for the race (which could be a lot of money!)

Please contact me Rob Duncan on 07985 020578 or email at I am also available at the fans table at Blackwell Meadows home games and information and tickets can also be obtained at Quaker retail in the Dolphin Centre, Monday to Friday - 10.00am to 1.00pm or you can buy your tickets online right now by clicking here. For tickets and race and owner sponsorships, I would like all the spaces to be filled by the end of September, so the race card can be printed in time.

A poster advertising the night can be downloaded here.

We have a maximum of 120 tickets available, we look forward to seeing you for a fun night out!

The DFCSG - strengthening the roots of our club

The DFCSG created and manage the B2D fund, which is funding available to help establish the Club back in Darlington. The fund acts as the primary collection pot for monies raised from direct donations and events organised by the DFCSG Fundraising Group.

Of course, there are many ways in which you can help the club directly but, if you’re specifically looking for a quick and easy way to support the establishment of a solid foundation for the Club in its new home, then it only takes a few minutes to set up a one-off or regular donation to the B2D Fund either by your online or high street banking service.

For monthly standing orders or a one off donation please send monies to the following account:

“Darlington FC Supporters Group”
Lloyds Bank
Sort code: 30-84-43
Account No: 30283268

To pay by cheque please make cheque payable to
“Darlington FC Supporters Group” and send to

Darlington FC Supporters Group
c/o Blackwell Meadows
Grange Road
County Durham

Please quote your name in the reference area when using internet banking and, on the back of your cheque, include your name and address.

Remember there are many ways to help the Club… can you think of any more? Please tell us about it either by email or in person at the Fans Table in the bar at all home games.

  • Buying a Season Ticket helps to provide the Manager with additional funding needed to strengthen the team at the start of each new season
  • Attending matches provides the club with a constant stream of money throughout the season, from additional match-day ticket sales and revenues from catering and other sales (e.g. programme sales, match-day raffle tickets, 50:50 match-day draw, Club merchandise).
  • The Come On Darlo Prediction League is a fun way to add a little bit of an edge to your season - use your skill and judgement to predict how we and the other local clubs will do in the coming season, and who will be the big winners and losers nationally, come the end of the season.
  • The Sponsor a Goal scheme is a fan-run initiative which has raised over £8000 for the Club since it began in season 2012-13.
  • For as little as £5/month the DFC Fans Lottery Draw provides you with the chance to win either £50 in each weekly draw, or even more in the monthly Super Draw. The Lottery has raised more than £10,000 for the Club over the past 12 months.
  • The Fundraising Group runs a series of entertainment fundraising events over the year, the proceeds of which go into the B2D fund.
The Darlington FC Supporters Group (DFCSG) was established on April 10th 2015 with the merger of the CIC, Supporters Club and Supporters Trust. Darlington FC Supporters Group holds approximately 62% of the equity of Darlington Football Club and is therefore the major shareholder as well as being the Corporate Director of Darlington Football Club 1883 Ltd.

quaker-retail-160x200.jpgQuaker Retail is the club shop and is open Monday to Friday between 10am and 1pm in the foyer at the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington Marketplace.
